I'm Brody, the photographer behind Cleveland Bell Photography, working across documentary and portraiture in South Yorkshire & the UK, shooting both film and digital.

The name comes from my great-grandfather, who had his own darkroom in the garden where he developed his film. I believe that's where my passion for film photography really comes from, combined with my own surname, Bell. It felt right to carry that on.

I picked up a camera for the first time when I was 10 and never really put it down. I'm self-taught at heart, though I later developed my photography formally, earning a degree from York St John University. I love working with clients to achieve their vision and create beautiful images where you feel comfortable and confident, timeless images, with homemade prints from my film.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me out with my horse. Hacking isn't too different from my photography: patience, reading the moment, not forcing anything, and finding beauty in what's around you. That same mindset drives my work, an interest in atmosphere, everyday moments, and the small details that shape people and place. I like working closely with individuals, businesses, and environments to create images that feel natural, observant, and grounded.

Film plays a big part in that. It slows things down, makes me look more carefully, and creates a gentle, unposed, authentic image that digital doesn't quite achieve in the same way. Alongside personal projects, I take on portrait commissions, couple shoots, weddings, and events. I also work with independent businesses across Sheffield and the UK on brand and editorial photography, creative collaborations, and social media content.
